Designer Otsuki Yumi has her atelier in Tokyo, where she also lives with her husband and children. She values the lines and rhythm found when creating something by hand and begins her design process here with every print. She hand paints the designs prior to digitally printing them onto fabric. The patterns found in her textiles are inspired by what she sees in her day to day life.
This vibrant and rich, hand painted image portrays a field of red tulips with bright yellow blooms scattered amongst them.

When I saw the little girls dress from this fabric I purchased it immediately. I love the simplicity of design and the random yellow tulips.(my favorite flower). The fabric has a nice smooth texture but will require a bit of lining. I cannot wait to make my granddaughter a dress from this fabric!
