Paint’ is a playful, whimsical, light weight polyester print by indie Japanese fabric design house Mannine.
This charming and cheerful print features a classic navy background covered in splotches of bright paint. Scattered over the top of this are Robaudo the male donkey and his love interest Robaumi as well as two Borzoi dogs. Every character created by designer Manri Kishimoto has a backstory, star sign, family tree and more! Robaudo was born in the year of the sheep. He is super sporty and plans to put out a book to share his particular athletic training methods. He is also multi-faceted and is currently taking a short course in art. The very social and artsy Robaumi, might have something to do with this!
With Mannine textiles, it is all in the details, you will even note the the characters themselves wear clothes made out of other Mannine fabrics.
This fabric has a beautiful silk-like drape and subtle sheen. It is perfect for making clothes (dresses, skirts, tops, pants), accessories, and more.
With the concept of wanting people to have fun with wearing her prints, textile designer Manri Kishimoto, debuted the playfully spirited Mannine brand in 2014/15 AW. She aims to design fabric and clothing that people will feel good wearing, so much so that they will want to take them on their holidays and adventures.
Mannine designs are all hand drawn by Manri Kishimoto and digitalised prior to printing.
