Painterly and evocative floral fabric by boutique Japanese designer, Otsuki Yumi.
Mochinoki (Nepal Holly):
“A motif of fruit bearing trees. I imagined the green and yellow berries before they coloured red.” – Otsuki Yumi
Designer Otsuki Yumi has her atelier in Tokyo, where she also lives with her husband and children. She values the lines and rhythm found when creating something by hand and begins her design process here with every print.
Yumi hand paints the designs and then digitally prints them onto her fabric. The patterns found in her designs are inspired by what she sees in her day to day life.
This dreamy, hand painted image features the early stages of the holly berries in yellow and green before they ripen into a deep red. They are surrounded by deep green foliage. The background colour is between a blue and a grey, this colour is extremely difficult to reproduce so this may be the only print run with this shade. (Maximum 10 meters available)
This light – mid weight cotton is perfect for skirts, dresses, and blouses. It would make the sweetest baby wear and add romance to soft furnishings.
