Designer Kanako Takeda is a born and raised Tokyo-ite! She continues to live in the bustling metropolis with her young family and create her beautiful designs. Kanako has a love for colours and shapes that disrupt the norm and will make you pause for a moment to take them in. She creates in a variety of mediums, from gouache to watercolour, and cut paper before getting her designs digitally printed on the fabric. The patterns she creates are inspired by motifs found in nature and the things she sees around her.

This design was created with a mix of Kanako's favourite methods: gouache on paper, paper cutting and watercolour. With a 1m repeat there is so much to discover in her stunning design. It is colourful and fun on a light beige background.
This light - mid weight cotton would be a talking point as soft furnishings for your home or made into a beautiful dress or blouse.
